In this exhibition on the cusp of mud season in Vermont, Aline Ordman and Christopher Griffin present new bodies of work in two concurrent solo exhibitions.
Ordman’s “Suspended Moments” captures brilliantly hued moments of the everyday. Her works use the drama of contrast, color and form to create psychologically complex landscapes filled with the sense of each moment.
With “New Mythology,” Griffin’s animals and archetypal forms connect ancient and contemporary worlds. For the past year, Griffin has painted a raucous cast of bears and bulls that suggest the stock market ups and downs... seen together, these creatures
lose their ferocity and instead become amulets against hardship
rather than signs of it.
Both artists will give insight into their works at the opening.
